Frontend Developer

We are searching for a shiny new developer.

Are you a focused and ambitious frontend developer who is looking for something new?

You’ll get to work on some incredible bespoke projects in close partnership with the client services and creative teams. And naturally there will be plenty of opportunity for you to bang out some stellar code. You’ll need to use all the usual suspects including HTML, CSS, Javascript, responsive frameworks and any other mad skills you might have. Your proven track record writing scalable and maintainable code will help us shape the quality of our output. We’re wanting someone who can play a lead role in shaping the technical architecture and roadmap of our outputs. You’ll be a perfectionist who loves to optimise existing code and contribute to our digital strategy.

Enjoy spending your time in a workplace full of great people who strive to make the working day a joyful, fun place to be. This role will see you work happily flying solo, as well as adding value to other teams across the company.

With a Friday morning breakfast grill and plenty of activities to get involved with throughout the year, it’s a great place to continue your career. Sound good?

You Will:

  • Work with different teams to educate and guide them through their digital briefs, looking at where we can add value based on your experience and knowledge
  • Have a commitment to deliver high-quality work to clients which meets and exceeds their expectations; understanding problems from a non-technical user point of view and be able to communicate effectively
  • Help mentor our ever growing team with your mid to senior skills in all sorts of languages

You have:

  • Strong HTML/CSS skills; building valid, clean, semantic mark up
  • Mad javascript skills; that brings design to life
  • Knowledge of SASS or other CSS pre-processors

  • Experience of working with RESTful APIs – particularly social network Facebook, Twitter, etc, constantly looking at innovative solutions (desirable)
  • MySQL skills and general SQL experience
  • Database analysis and design skills; building well-structured, normalised databases
  • Competence with modern web software architecture and techniques such as MVC
  • Ability to build well-designed, modular, reusable code
  • Familiarity with CodeIgniter, Laravel and/or other modern PHP Frameworks
  • Have a desire to increase your skill set in robotics, Bluetooth code and machine controllers, AI/VR code and mobile dev

And of course...

  • An understanding and awareness of security issues and accessibility issues
  • A good awareness of web standards and compatibility issues
  • General awareness of open source tools and environment relevant to web development
  • Familiarity of using Git for version control
